DAY.1 From Angeles City (or from a other travel module) we drive through the rice fields of the province of Tarlac. to the always-cool city high in the mountains of Baguio. Baguio City occupies 49 square kilometers of hilly land on a plateau about 1,500 meters high in the southwestern portion of the Cordillera Central mountain range in northern Luzon. It is completely surrounded by the province of Benguet in which the city used to be a town before it has been made into an independent city. The city is called “ The Summer Capital” or “The Always Cool City In The Mountains”. We drive around in the city and visit famous Burnham Park. Here we visit an orchid garden. We also bring a visit to a Tam-Awan village. This village with its Ifugao houses show you the culture of the tribes in the Cordillera Mountains. Baguio, the summer city of the Philippines is worth while a visit with its pine covered hills you enjoy the city marked overflowing with handcrafts, fresh vegetables and strawberries from the surrounding mountains. We visit the various beautiful spots like Burnham Park and an Ifugao village. We stay for an overnight in Baguio and we take our dinner there. |

DAY. 3 A beautiful drive along the coast brings us to the city of Vigan. This city is world famous for its preserved architecture out of the Spanish colonial period. It's beautiful to see Vigan in the morning light with its many colonial houses, antique shops and Calesas (horse-drawn carriage). It looks like a picture out of the 17th century. Vigan is on the Unesco World Heritage List. Unesco dedicated money to restore the old city center with its more than 180 old colonial houses. And the Saint Paul Cathedral was remarkably well preserved out of the year 1641. This is one of the oldest and biggest churches in the Philippines. We make a two-hour tour in a Calesa through the old part of the city. We visit a pottery and the house of the governor with its own mini-zoo. We stay for an overnight in an authentic colonial house. |
