DAY. 2
At
10 am we go by boat to Corregidor, this is a small rocky island about 48
kilometers west of Manila which is strategically located at the entrance
of Manila Bay. This island fortress stands as a memorial for courage, valor, and heroism of its Filipino and American defenders who
bravely held their ground against the overwhelming number of invading
Japanese forces during World War II. Also known as "the Rock", it was a
key bastion of the Allies during the war. |

DAY. 3 We visit the Chinese Cemetery, as in life, so as in death for Manila's wealthy Chinese citizens, who are buried with every modern convenience in the huge Chinese Cemetery. They are mausoleums with crystal chandeliers, air-con, hot and cold running water, kitchens and flushing toilets (in case the interred are caught short on the way to paradise). In the afternoon we go to Chinatown as in any other Chinese enclave around the world here you'll find dozens of goldsmiths, herbalists teahouses and shops selling moon cakes, incense, paper money to burn for ancestors, trinkets and all kinds of curios. We stay in Park Hotel. |

DAY. 4 The Pagsanjan Waterfalls and the Bumungan River is one of the top tourist attractions in the Philippines. Pagsanjan has a beautiful old city gate and an old Catholic Church. Colorful kayaks and skilful boatmen bring us along the Bumungan River, through the tropical rainforest with its beautiful flora and fauna, a breathtaking scenic experience. On this river they made Coppola’s Vietnam-War-Movie "Apocalypse Now". After an exciting journey along the river we reach the mighty Pagsanjan waterfall. Boys pull us on a raft under the waterfall to the cave behind it. Take care and bring some extra dry clothes, a towel and a plastic bag to protect your film and camera. The Pagsanjan Tour is really a day full of adventure. Than we go back to the hotel in Manila. |
